Building the Mental Health of Infants and Young Children
Workforce Competency Based Training Project
The Mental Health Commission funded the development of a report into the infant mental health workforce of Western Australia. The report investigates what types of professionals provide mental health and wellbeing support to infants and young children in Western Australia and considers the long term workforce requirements of these professionals.
Following the report, the Australian Association for Infant Mental Health (AAIMH), WA Branch Incorporated has purchased a license for the Competency Guidelines for Culturally Sensitive, Relationship-Focused Practice Promoting Infant Mental Health® from the Michigan Association for Infant Mental Health.
These Guidelines, launch 27 March 2015, are the first of their kind in Australia. For more information or to purchase a copy of the Guidelines visit the AAIMH website.
