Media training for consumers & carers

Consumers and carers will have the chance to learn how to use the media to promote mental health, which is part of the Commission's efforts to help break down stigma that people with a mental illness experience as more consumers and carers are able to express their views and their stories in the media.

The workshops will focus on print, social media, radio and television, and include on camera interview practice. Senior WA journalists will provide insights into the workings of the media. Priority will be given to people who have not had extensive media experience or training. People from diverse backgrounds are invited to apply.

Time and location will be advised shortly. To register your interest please contact Ivana Oroz, Manager Communications and Community Education on ivana.oroz@mentalhealth.wa.gov.au.
